Greeting Cards... we love you!
After many years of working solely for clients, we felt that we still had plenty of ideas for our own work that other people would love to see. So taking pointers from previous award-winning print projects, we've created these ranges of cards covering many areas in both two and three dimensions. They're innovative, cheeky, positive, enlightening and fun.

New Release: YOH! That's 'yarn over hook' for all you crochet fans out there!
Designed with rich, retro colours, the YOH range homes in on your nearest and dearest and greetings for their special day. The range includes Happy Birthday, Make a Wish, Birthday Snuggles, Birthday Boy, Birthday Girl, Nest, Mum, Dad, Gran, Grandad, 40th, 50th, 60th and 70th Birthdays. And seeing as Christmas gives all of us at open|box|design a warm fuzzy glow, we've also produced six crocheted snowflakes to celebrate the family event of the year - presenting vibrant, graphic snowflakes on a white textured stock they are sure to stand out on that mantlepiece.
Belissima : Cards for really special people
The Belissima range incorporates subtlety, elegance and refinement to produce a stunning set of cards aimed only for those you really care about.
There are 10 new cards in the range and are 12.5 x 18cm. The cards use soft hues, ornamental visuals and a glamorous typeface all presented on a luxuriant card stock with a gentle swirling emboss.
There is also a message on the inside of the card.
Just Peachy - the juiciest words around
Have you ever seen a word that looks good enough to eat? Well that’s the basis of these simply sumptuous cards.
Luscious letters with a flavoursome sentiment filled in with a hand drawn style and finished on a heavy linen-embossed card stock. Mmm, smack those juicy lips now.
There are 20 new cards in the range and are 12.5 x 18cm.
Random Chat: Cards for our time
'Random Chat' is our irreverent look at life today. Whether you feel that the garage of your mind has been roadmapped by an information superhighway meltdown, or you just can't help repeating the same random words over and over again...actually, or simply if you have a pet that has a different take on the word 'gift' - this is the range that truly has it all. Read, enjoy, and be random. Nuff said, yeah?
Close-Knit: Comfort in card form
It's as snug as a big snuggly thing from your Gran. If your Gran is the coolest thing around of course. We've taken our cue from the wonderful world of knitting and crochet of yesteryear and have bundled up all that care, craft and heart appeal with a little contemporary open|box|design styling to produce a range that is both on trend and traditional.
O NO
Sometimes simplicity is a virtue. These are simple cards with a wry message in a simple, clean and crisp design.
Cards measure 14.5 cm square and are on textured high quality matt stock.
Wuff: Greetings with Pedigree
A series of eight, three-dimensional Cards for dog-lovers and those who simply want to say it with paws. Each card folds flat to a 15cm square with an embossed outline of our dog's head. Open it up however and the pup comes to life in a three dimensional form. These are unusual cards in that they are meant to be left open with the dog facing the recipient along with ample space for that special message. These are cards of the highest pedigree. We love them so much we can't help but pet them.
Brilliant Birthdays - distinctive and very special cards
Brilliant Birthdays: A series of eighteen, three-dimensional Birthdays Cards. These really are unique and open up to reveal a three-dimensional birthday wish. The set contains a special card for new-borns in both male and female flavours along with cards for age groups 1, 3, 16, 18, 21, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70. To complete, we also have six non-age-number specific cards - representing a birthday for a girl, a boy, and four for any age. The cards fold to a 15cm square design and are printed on all sides on a celebratory shimmering card stock. Delicious!
Lov3d Up
A series of six, three-dimensional Love Cards. Here's a range of contemporary, slightly cheeky, utterly striking and downright romantic three-dimensional cards. Each card has a 'teaser' cover, and it's only when your loved one opens the card up that it reveals the grandest gesture of your love. We love these cards. You'll love these cards. You love your love. M'wah, m'wah. Well, it would be rude not to!
Feel The Love
A series of sixteen, two-dimensional square cards (15cm). We love our relatives. We have many... and it's often difficult to get contemporary designs for all of them. Well, until now that is. The 'Feel the love' range has a cheeky retro look that still manages to be specific to the relative in mind. There's a card for Mum, Dad, Brother, Sister, Son, Daughter, Gran, Grandad, Niece, Nephew, Husband, Wife, Male Baby, Female Baby, Cousin and to round it off, there's even one for Congratulations! Buy them all and spread the love... Feel the love!
Buzzwords
A series of eight, two-dimensional square cards (15cm). There are five cards for Birthdays, one for You're Leaving, one for an Apology and one for Congratulations. Each card cheekily celebrates the (over)use of meaningless and perfunctory words in the everyday workplace environment. Go on, eulogize those mixed metaphors and become a Buzzword Evangelist!
Seasonal Greetings
A series of eight, two-dimensional landscape oriented Christmas Cards with print outside and in. These are bold and colourful featuring strong graphic symbols of the festive season.
open|box|design awarded BEST OF SHOW, fresh 2010 at Spring Fair International
It was already a great start to the year for us and it keept on getting better as we were recognised by industry leaders in the retail sector and fellow card publishers for the quality of our work.
We exhibited at Spring Fair International in February, specifically within the ‘Fresh’ area - a brand new section of the greetings hall specially reserved for design-led companies - and we were awarded the very first ‘Best of Fresh’ Award.
This award was given to the company that, in the judges’ opinion, had the best and most innovative products of the entire Fresh section. We are delighted that our greetings cards have been endorsed so positively by colleagues - and it makes us want to do more!
The award has already raised the profile of our small but energetic company and following our time at Spring Fair we have been mentioned in Progressive Greetings, Greetings Today and Gift Focus Magazine.
